Project description

Architectural design, project, supervision and construction of the Leyva Family’s residence, at “Los Arcos” quarter in Mexicali, B.C.

With this project the habitation and amusement needs the Leyva Family asked are solved. Integrated by 5 members with diverse personalities and different needs, the aim was to integrate them in the familiar core yet keeping their privacy and individuality To this mean the plan was disposed around a central element, a big source of light to obtain a warm atmosphere that indulges the interaction, with rooms that display around this axis and becomes a whole volume, with pure geometrical shapes, of solid walls playing with windows that allow in the interior light and shadow games, walls combined to create spaces that answer the needs of each family’s member.

With this project an award given by the Mexican Architects Association in the residential field was obtained, in addition, the work was publicized in the book “Young Mexican Architects”.
